We are seeking a full-time Project Coordinator to support the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) National Integration Center (NIC) involving efforts from a number of established working groups. These working groups provide input to FEMA on a wide range of important aspects related to NIMS, ICS, Personnel Credentialing, team and resource typing standards, guidelines, and education and training to help improve the nation's preparedness and ability to respond and recover whenever there is an emergency. Cabezon Group offers a wide range of support for these working groups and requires a detail-oriented individual to perform written documentation, logistical arrangements, and other support efforts.
The responsibilities of the Project Coordinator will include but not be limited to:
- Attending and supporting face-to-face meetings and conference calls of NIMS working groups.
- Initially support meetings as a secondary point of contact (under the direct lead of a primary staff member) with the intent of assuming primary responsibilities for supporting multiple working groups.
- Recording meeting minutes and track action items as well as revisions/edits to existing documentation. Coordinating with a Deputy Project Manager (DPM) or Project Manager (PM) to complete the required work for various deliverables to FEMA.
- Receiving and coordinating travel expense reimbursement forms for members of the working groups. Work with the DPM or PM to process these vouchers for payment.
- Maintaining calendar and announcement sections of working group website pages.
- Assembling meeting materials and coordinate the shipping of these items for each face-to-face meeting.
- Coordinating the outreach initiative of working groups which includes searching for applicable conferences and events where working group presentations can be delivered. Working with the Logistics Coordinator and DPM to arrange for travel support for approved working group members.
Required skills/experience:
- Knowledge of the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and/or the National Response Framework (NRF).
- Experience in editing and writing.
- Competency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel.
- Must have good oral and written communications skills.
- Must be a self-initiator and work well with limited supervision.
Desired skills/experience:
- Experience in emergency response.
Required education:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
This is a government contract supported position. This position will work from a Rockville, MD office location. Some travel will be required for this position as you will be asked to support meetings at various locations within the United States.
